You can increase the NUMBER of logical log files by executing the onparams
command, which will effectively increase the size of your logical log
space. You need to add few more logfiles using the "onparams -a -d
logDBSpace" command and increase the value of LOGSMAX in your onconfig
file. Also you need to run an ontape -s (full backup) in order to make the
new logfiles active.

Subject: Logical logs
Hi Everyone ,
I am new to the administrative side of Informix Dynamic OL Server and
would be gratefull if someone is able to give me a clear answer
pertaining to increasing the size of my logical log file.
I have tried adjusting the parameters in my confiuration files that did
not seem to resolve the problem at all.
Tried to use onparm , but the parameters in the book was confusing.
My email pb@aquil.de

A quick comment:
Running the full level 0 backup (ontape -s) to /dev/null is an old trick we've
employed to activate the log files in just a few seconds, especially if the
database was already recently backed up. Email me if you need any assistance
on setting your tape params to /dev/null (it's in onconfig).
