Client not connecting to Server!!!

I am running SCO Openserver Enterprise 5, and just installed Informix 7.1. I can initialize the dbspace just fine. However, when I try to connect to the server with dbaccess, I get a 908 error message - permission denied - attempt to connect to database server failed. My tcp/ip seems to work just fine because X works ok. I am using a tlitcp connection in the sqlhosts file. Any suggestions appreciated!
