dbaccess and vi Weird Behavior

I've posted this before (a long time ago) and received some responses but none of the suggestions worked. I am posting this again with hopes that someone may have had the same problem and found a solution to it: I am running Informix SE 6.0 on HP/UX 9.07. When I choose "Use Editor" in dbaccess (takes me to "vi") and I enter something into "vi" and then do a ":wq" (write then exit "vi"), the session just sits there. That is, I can't do anything at this point. Has anyone experienced this? Informix support was of no help to me. If anyone has a solution, I would appreciate hearing about it.
