Installing IDS 11.5 on Solaris x86

Hello all,
I downloaded the 'Solaris 32 bit - iif.11.50.UC1DE.SOL-9.tar' file from the IIUG website for testing. I installed it on a x86 Intel Dell machine that is running Solaris 10 for x86, however when I try to launch onmonitor, dbaccess or any other IDS programs I get an "Invalid argument" error.
Is the 'Solaris 32 bit - iif.11.50.UC1DE.SOL-9.tar' file intended for installation only on a SPARC machine? If so is there an installer for x86 Solaris? Can the IDS source be obtained and compiled locally?
If not a compatibility issue, any ideas on what else the error might be?
I appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.

I would strongly recommend that you have a look at the IBM Informix Virtual Appliance for a "nice" introduction, and also for the
later version of IBM Informix- 11.50.UC3.
Start off here, which holds some nice information.

When you extract the tar file check under the release directory and
the machine notes will tell you which platform it is for.
