In technical terms, you're hosed. When a long transaction fills the logs, the
system locks up and you're looking at a restore from a tape archive. I hope you
have one. If you don't, that's hard lesson number one.
Now, 7000 rows isn't much, so first off your logical logs are too small. Make em
big, disk is cheap. Time isn't. On a big system, 2-4 GB or more isn't uncommon.
LTXHWM and LTXEHWM also keep you out of trouble with long transactions, yours should
be OK when you expand the logical log.
