But since somebody else had an interest in it... It's low for several reasons: 1. It's three or four positions in one: DBA, developer, sysadmin, data modeller 2. It's low for the number of years as DBA. Take a percentage off the current consulting rates for any one of these positions, and the sys admin is probably the only one that would get paid this low--at least here in Florida, which is low pay. It's not an entry-level position, so it's low. Phone calls from recruiters I talk to tell me much higher numbers for these positions. 3. It looks like a backfill slam dunk to replace somebody who moved on to a better position--probably left this one doing too much work, and having to fill several roles. Or they may advertise a low salary just to prove it's low... > Personally I would think it kind of on the low side, but i'm not necessarily a good judge > of US rates. > You did pretty good guessing... :-) > Mark > MarkDenham@aol.com (home) > Denham.M@amstr.com (work) > -- Tim Schaefer \\\\|// tschaefe@mindspring.com (6 6) ------------------------oOOo---( )---o00o--------- http://www.inxutil.com
