Re: Problem with DSA 7.2 + Hp UX 10.20

This is a real long shot, but there is a but (55545) that applies (to my
knowledge) only to uniprocessor HPUX 10.20 ports that causes the process
priority of the cpu vp to go to -16. I heard of this happening during an
archive, and all other processes were "frozen" out, but I noticed that
all of my oninit processes had a priority of -16 on my SMP HP. I haven't
seen "frozen" systems yet, but ran across this trying to decipher some
performance problems I have had recently.
Per Informix, the work around is to enable priority aging (set NOAGE to
0) and then manually set the priority of the CPU process using either the
rtsched or rtprio utilities. Support <read: not me> says to run either:
rtsched -S SCHED_RR -p0 -P <pid>
-or- rtprio 127 -<pid>
There is no fix version currently available. I just found out about this
today, and will be playing with it myself to see what happens. If
anybody has any input, please share...
