Re: Memory allocation failed during query processing -AIX 5.1

We are on 32-bit. I really doubt that the process is using up 2GB of shared memory....I haven't seen any notices in the log file about any more segments being added or attempted dynamically during this time. This is what I see. The 32-bit AIX has a limit of 2GB of shared memory per process. It also has a limit of 11 shared memory segments per process. Look at the size and number of your virtual shared memory segments. If you have many of them you may want the change the size of you initial and next virtual shared memory segments. ---- Original message ---- >Date: Tue, 22 Jun 2004 11:56:09 -0500 >From: CKGeier@nwc.edu >Subject: Memory allocation failed during query processing - AIX 5.1 >To: <informix-list@iiug.org> > >A process failed on AIX 5.1, IDS 7.31 UD6 with this error: > >-208 Memory allocation failed during query processing. > >The database server needed to allocate data-space memory in order to >process the query, but none was available.
