onbar restore LTAPEDEV=/dev/null
Paul Sullivan needed to do a cold ON-Bar restore of a 10.00.FC6 instance backed up via Legato Networker with LTAPEDEV set to /dev/null, so no logical logs were ever backed up (the log backups failed with error -43183/156) and the level-0 backup had been run with -w. His attempt at 'onbar -r -p -w' restored only rootdbs and no other dbspaces. Alexandre Marini advised not using -w when logs are ignored and running a plain 'onbar -b -L 0' instead. Paul then said he needed 10.00.FC9 for HP-UX PA-RISC to fix the restore; Art Kagel suggested upgrading to a supported release (11.70/12.10). No confirmed successful restore is recorded in the thread.

Hello.
Sorry, I didn´t follow your previous posts, but if you don´t want a
logical-log backup, just remove the '-w' parameter, from your backup command,
and the full backup should run as expected.
If you are using an SM software, look into the job specification, and remove
the specific parameter that is including the "-w" option in Informix side.

We tried to restore the database with onbar -r -p -w with LTAPEDEV=/dev/null.
Only the rootdbs got restored. We are unable to restore the other dbspaces.
Anyone know how to get around this problem?

You should not do a backup with -w, if you are ignoring logs.
Just do a regular backup through "onbar -b -L 0", and you should be able to
restore all your dbspaces, with no further issues.
