Help! INFNET
Posted in 1993
I have some problems with my Informix-system. My configuration is: Client : UNIX, ISQL 4.1, INFNET Net : TCP Server: UNIX, ONLINE 4.1, STAR The local user is not present in the server's passwd; mapping is done with the $HOME/.netrc file. P#1: Whenever I try to create a database through ISQL at the client, a local SE-database (*.dbs) will be created ! It seems impossible to create a remote ONLINE-database, even if I use the //<HOST>/<database> format. The SQLEXEC-variable is correctly set to $INFORMIXDIR/ sqlexec_tcp and there is *NO* SE-backend on the local machine ! P#2: A local user who is not known at the server possesses a '.netrc' file to map to a known user. When I connect to the backend everything looks good; the backend logging mechanism reports a logon as the mapped user. I have a table which is only selectable by the mapped user (that one which is known at the server). When I try to retrieve data using a PERFORM-format, sperform reports a number of rows found, but it doesn't display them ! It only displays data when the table has select- permission for 'public'. Using SQL I get the data, it's only PERFORM not obeying.
