D4GL vs. I4GL

We're looking into installing D4GL and converting some of our 4GL applications to D4GL. Has anyone done this before? If so, what types of problems/issues did you come across? Was it just a simple recompile of your existing 4GL applications into D4GL or did you actually have to make changes to the code? We would also like to keep some of our existing 4GL applications alone. Can D4GL and 4GL co-exist together on the same machine? Any info from anyone who has gone through this would be appreciated. Thank you Stefanie Vario svario@roushind.com
We recompiled our existing 4GL programs in 4JS (D4GL), and found the following incompatibilities 1. 4JS has a problem with ROW ID's when used in prepared SQL - it returns an SQL Syntax error - 201 upon analyzing the queries concerned we found that 4JS has a problem with the ROWID column 2. 4JS will not accept spaces in command line arguments 3. 4JS is very specific, it is more thorough in its checking of object names than 4GL 4. You can run 4JS and 4GL on the same machine. Hope this has helped Dale Stewart Stefanie Vario wrote: > We're looking into installing D4GL and converting some of our 4GL > applications to D4GL.
