RE: Light scans
Posted in 1997
I have spotted the light scans on our server many times by using onstat -g =
lsc. I am not aware any environment variable has been set for this.
However, the output from "onstat -g lsc" does not indicate which session =
has caused the light scans. I have tried searching SMI tables for the =
information but could not find any. Does anyone know whether session =
number is recorded anywhere along with the light scans info? I know some =
hard ways to get the session number (altimately application program) , eg. =
by looking at sessions' start time against the time the light scans =
occurred (roughly) or by running one application program each time)
Cheers. Peter

Answer has been half supplied. You can monitor light scans using onstat -g =
lsc.
You need to run this at the time the light scan is being performed in =
order to see any
action.
As yet I do not know what environment variable (if any) is required to =
enable light scans.

Did anyone answer Mark (Denham.M@amstr.com) original question?

If so please post to the list or mail directly to me.
