There are a number of kernel parameters to do with kernel AIO (KAIO).
Check your release notes, typically $INFORMIXDIR/release/*/*/ONLINE_7.2
for details of these parameters.
Check you have all patches loaded as specified in these notes.
Also check these notes for details of shared memory and semaphore kernel
parameter values.
