Sorry for the delay in responding to this question, and even sorrier that the answer isn't more nearly definitive. > and I'm having trouble getting my interrupt key to be recognized. Oh? What is it set to according to 'stty'? And where are you running the client piece -- on the SCO box or on a PC somewhere? > In $FGLDIR/etc/fglprofile, I have set: > > gui.useOOB.interrupt=0 > fglrun.signalOOB = 21 On my Solaris box, 21 corresponds to SIGURG (urgent socket condition). I've not run into any problems leaving these as the default values. I don't normally use other than the defaults; I use control-c for my interrupt key. Did you change them because you needed to? Try just commenting them out. > gui.key.interrupt= "Delete" So, are you using the delete key to do interrupts? Have you checked that what you think is the delete key is what D4GL thinks is the delete key? Do you know what character code is generated by your delete key? Is it ASCII DEL = \\177 = 0x7F = 127? > When I press the Interrupt button, that works. OK. > It doesn't recognize the "Delete" key when I press it. I assume you did 'stty intr "^c"' or thereabouts. And you checked that typing "^c" at the keyboard does indeed generate an interrupt? > but it still ignores it. How impolite of it to ignore a lady... > Is there something else I need to do? Yes, because it isn't working, but I don't really know what. I've just experimented with the D4GLDEMO code (downloadable from the IDN web site if you haven't already got it -- see my signature), and I got the delete key on my keyboard (which does generate ASCII DEL) to work by: 1. stty intr ^? 2. vi fglprofile (in the with sub-directory) -- add gui.key.interrupt = "Delete" 3. Run runwith. Go to Customer, One-Add. Hit ^C -- nothing. Hit Delete -- interrupt detected. One-Add again; hit interrupt button -- interrupt detected. Note that I've not done anything with the OOB values. > I'm changing the values in "fglprofile" at run-time and not recompiling. That should be fine; the fglprofile values are purely runtime and changing them does not require recompilation. I've occasionally had odd effects where it seemed like the program was ignoring FGLPROFILE, but I've not been able to nail this down. > I [am] running SCO OpenServer 5.0.4.
