We have two SCO-Unix servers, one runs our order entry and acct
software, the other runs the warehouse/inventory control software.
Each server has an Informix DB, IDS version 7.30 UC2.
The inventory control DB uses synonyms to provide access to data in
the order entry DB, and vice versa.
The last couple of nights, the connection between the two DBs has been
lost. The servers are both up and I can log into each, but I am unable
to access the order entry DB from the inventory control DB.
The application, running on the inventory control DB, returns an
"Error on remote connection" error, code -936.
After a little research, I found some /tmp/af.* files, that indicate
an "Unexpected virtual processor termination" occurred. I don't know
how to interpret the rest of the information in the af file.
Nothing has changed in the last couple of days.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
The af files are quite large, so I didn't try to post them. If you'd
like a copy, I'll be happy to e-mail them to you.
Thanks,
Joel
