A nice, stripped down version kind of like the original UNIX ref manuals (the ones you get when you do "man foo") would be neat; just the facts. These wouldn't take up a lot of on-line room. I'm nervous of things like the Solaris Answer Book (online docs in the most voluminous fashion), as they take up either many CDs or much disk space (neither is cool in my view). And one closing word (OK more than one) in favour of printed books, especially when someone like O'Reilly does them; there's no subsitute for a manual that works when the system's down.
