My suggestion said SERVER-SIDE code, and mentioned neither applets nor Web Browsers. I think Java would be great sitting on a server, being talked to by whatever front-end tool you happen to like: Delphi, PowerBuilder, *or* a Web development language like Java. Application Partitioning without NewEra or C[++]. We do this now with 4GL and some socket routines, but I'd like to go down an OO route in a language with a future.
