Are there any existing C-ISAM packages which provide such >kind of functions for SCO UNIX platform? > >Igor Dolinsek Igor, I presume that you want to be able to read and write to the same files that are used by the Cobol. Micro Focus level II uses Informix C-ISAM 2.03 with some changes made by Micro Focus which makes it slightly incompatible with normal C-ISAM 2.03 is no longer available but Informix can supply 2.04 on most platforms and this is quite happy reading level II files but I'm not sure I would trust it to write to them. In any case I dont think it has the transaction extensions you want. Micro Focus COBOL/2 provides a way round this problem. It is still supplied with 2.03 but allows a developer to replace this with any ISAM package that matches the interface they provide. All versions of C-ISAM will work. Your best bet seems to me to move to COBOL/2 and get the latest version of C-ISAM from Informix ported to SCO 386. This version should have the extensions you want. If you then install this within the COBOL/2 package you should get everything you want. Hope this is of some help and that this option is open to you. Mail me if you need anything further.
