I met an Oracle Physical DBA and Logical DBA from some bank : several years ago at a Sybase training class and they explained it to : me. The Informix and Sybase DBAs at the class had no clue but the : other Oracle people all nodded their heads in understanding. There's a reason that Oracle needs both a physical and a logical DBA. :) The physical DBA is not logical and there are many times that being logical is counterproductive in an Oracle environment, so it takes two to administer the database. Note that some researchers have postulated that a combination of a sane and an insane DBA will achieve the same ends and will be more fun to watch to boot. joe (couldn't help it) lumbley (couldn't help it) : Art S.
