Actually, if you have 7.xx, the fastest method to compress a table is: ALTER FRAGMENT ON TABLE mytable INIT IN mydbspace; mydbspace can be the same dbspace the table currently resides in and unlike the ALTER INDEX ... TO CLUSTER solution you do not need to have enough free space to hold a second copy of the table. Art S. Kagel
