Can online engine access SE engine with triggers ?

If triggers are inserted into an online engine, can it insert,update,remove records into a SE datbase engine. We have 2 databases active running applications that need to share data.... One database is Online, the other is the Standard engine....We are hoping we can use triggers from online to access SE database. Is this feasible ??? Your help is appreciated Thanks in advance
