Installation problem

I am attempting to upgrade an Informix installation from 7.3x on Sun 5.7 to 9.4 on Sun 5.9. When I run oninit -ivy I get the following: Creating buffer pool 200002 kbytes...succeeded Initializing rhead structure...succeeded init_alarm failed fyi: I installed a new version of ISQL and then IDS in the same directory as was previously used. I can't seem to find any docs on this. Thanks
