If this is the case I do not understand the error as dbexport generates ASCII files and no release informations. You say you've upgraded from 7.14 to 7.30 lately. Did you maybe try to restore a DBsave done by ontape, onarchive or onbar? In this case it does not work. The restore can only be done in the same release as the save.
