I had the same problem on NT quite a while back, hence my post about
IDS's feasability on NT. I have a feeling either a) NT schedules
extremely
bad and/or b) Informix makes very inefficient use of NT's resources. All
i need is facts to back this up and I could probably argue a good case
for Solaris to my M$ loving management.
Apart from the inability to make the CPU's do anything, i believe you
can't
allocate more than 1 GB contiguous shared memory, ie. BUFFERS has a
limit
of around 250000 (4K pages).
