HI, I'm using INFORMIX 9.40FC9 ON SOLARIS 10 Does anyone know how to get binary values from sysmaster:sysptnhdr.flags? I know that every binary position from this integer values has meaning for table properties. I'm interested to see when a table has Blobs or extended datatypes. I kwow that doing a "BITWISE AND" operation i can get it, but it's IDS 9.40 Any tip? Thanks
Check in the sysmaster database and look for the rows with the column called tabname =3D "sysptnhdr", the column called value is the bit value the column called text is the description. In 9.40 you can use the procedure sysmaster:bitval( value, '0x40' ) to test a SINGLE bit. It will not test multiple bits. John F. Thank you John it's pretty helpful. I just want to complement this thread. Table in sysmaster that has bit descriptions is flags_text. There you will find each table ant its bit flag description.
