Osman, Try it this way. When you call you shell script from inside your 4gl program, pass parameters from the run command i.e., run "myscript <variable>" and inside your myscript shell program, read the variable as "$1", "$2" etc. bye, Sanjit. ************************ START OF FORWARDED MESSAGE ********************** >From : mail>ori96@batelco.com.bh To : informix-list@iiug.org Subject : how to? From the 4gl code I try to use : run "myscript" but I want to pass a value from the 4gl to myscript and then read it from inside the script. Regards Osman
