Is it possible to partition/fragment a table while keeping it in a single tablespace.
If you have version 10.00 or later, yes. You just have to include the PARTITION <partition_name> clause for each partition and they can all be in the same dbspace. Before 10.00, and if the PARTITION <partition_name> clause is left off, each partition is named after the dbspace you place it in, so they partitions would have to be indifferent dbspaces. By naming the partitions yourself you can do what you want to do. Art Art S.
