Hi, I am not familiar with Informix but need to know the version of Informix that we use. Is there a system table that I can query to get this info ? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for reply. VL

Assuming that your platform is UNIX, you could try . . .
dbaccess -V
JWC
1. If one has signed in to the client as user "informix" and has the
environmental variables set correctly, almost all the Informix commands
will return the version of the database instance if one adds a "-V"
option. For some of the commands, the Informix engine does not need to
be "up" for these commands to work.

2. The release notes will always be under the release/en_us/0333
directory where the Informix product is loaded, i.e.
$INFORMIXDIR/release/en_us/0333.

3. Another way of checking for the version is writing an SQLstatement
that will query the engine:
$ echo"select unique dbinfo('version', 'full') fromsystables"|dbaccesssysmaster
Databaseselected.
(constant)

Hope this helps. Good luck.
