Hi all, Someone please advice me, when i drop a table from the primary chunk, or delete data inside tables from the primary chunk, will the tables or data get restored back automatically from the mirror chunks? What about if i drop a dbspace from the primary chunk, will this again get restored from the mirror chunk? Paul

If one chunk (of the pair) goes off-line for any reason the remaining will continue to service the engine and be kept up to date. When the off-line chunks comes back on-line it will be refreshed from the up to date chunks. To recover deleted data as you suggest you need to either restore a pre-deletion archive and extract the data or, if you have V10, undertake a table level restore. Keith
No Paul, the objects on the mirror chunks will be dropped/deleted as well. Art S. The answer is "no" to both questions. The mirror is exactly that, it will reflect the actions taken upon the primary chunk. The purpose of the mirror is to backup the primary chunk. The only way it can do that is to contain exactly what is stored within the primary. Take care.
