Javascript in Datablades

Hi, I am busy creating a website which is being run through an Informix database and Data Director for Web, what I need to find out is if I am pulling my images out of a database is there anyway of using these images in conjunction with javascript? ie. My menu buttons on my page are being pulled from the DB and I would like to change these pictures on mouseover, in ASP and normal HTML I would assign the image a ID and then write the jscript... but when I do this with DDW it does not work, the ID seems to dissapear before the page is loaded into the browser... any help would be greatly appreciated.
