I-Net Communication Problem
We are running Informix 5.0 on a RS/6000 980 and 320 in a client server
environment. The I-Net version is 5.00.UC3.
The client (320) is configured to communicate with the default instance on the
server (980) and then communicate with the second instance to obtain table
information. A problem arrises when the '* 'is used to select from the
second instance database e.g.,
select *
from sig1994@waldo3:signal
sig1994 is the database name, waldo3 the dbservername and signal the table name.
What is seen is first error -934 then -529 and then on the third try, the data is
successfully retreived.
When the query is changed to:
select sig_no
from sig1994@waldo3:signal
that field information is retrieved at once.
What's the deal? Thanks in advance.
