When we look at the process, the fglgo is } sucking time, but the engine is quiet. } } We initially suspected the engine, but we've been able to duplicate } the problem on 4.0 and 4.1 4GL RDS, 4.0 and 4.1 Standard Engine, and } 4.1 Online. Across two different platforms (DGUX and SCO Unix). If we } compile the 4GL, the problem Goes Away, but that isn't really a } solution. } } In some situations it runs fine, but will lock up in the RDS Debugger, } but we have seen it work fine in the Debugger, yet lock up outside of } it. Given a specific set of criteria, it always fails, at the same } spot. } } On the vain hope that something in the code was "Just Wrong", we gave } the program to another programmer, gave him the specs, and said } "rewrite this from scratch". There is certainly some commonality } between the two (like the posting routines), but other than that they } are different programs. The second program locks up as well. We have } tried it by removing either or both of the posting routines (where a } lot of SQL work is done), yet it still fails. } } If anyone has any other experiences at all similiar to this, I'd } appreciate hearing from you.
