what is the new database sysuser in version 9.40.UC2 for ? I found no infos in documentation. Thanks for alls advice ! Gerd Kaluzinski
Hi, $INFORMIXDIR/release/en_us/0333/pam.txt contains a brief explanation of new sysuser database (among many other things). As you might have guessed by now, it has to do with the support of PAM , which is new in 9.40.UC2 on some platforms. [ Since manuals were printed for 9.40.UC1, which does not have PAM support, this new feature is explained in the above mentioned text file only. ] Regards, Martin -- Martin Fuerderer IBM Informix Development Munich Data Management Solutions "Gerd Kaluzi...." <gerd.kaluzinski@bytec.de> Sent by: forum.subscriber@iiug.org 27.08.2003 10:30 To: ids@iiug.org cc: Subject: sysuser database [1763] what is the new database sysuser in version 9.40.UC2 for ? Hi, sorry about that - I mistakenly took PAM for granted. Darren, you're now the second one asking ... PAM - Pluggable Authentication Modules. You can find some good and in-depth explanations at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/libs/pam/index.html Regards, Martin -- Martin Fuerderer IBM Informix Development Munich Data Management Solutions Darren_Jacobs@carmax.com 27.08.2003 15:04 To: Martin Fuerderer/Germany/IBM@IBMDE cc: Subject: Re: sysuser database [1764] PAM who? :-)~ Call me outta the loop but what does PAM stand for? I may know but drawing a blank, of course this seems to be nothing new as I grow older!
