First-Hand Experience with RAIDS?

Folks, I've seen various pros & cons of RAID implementations for OnLine 5.xx databases, but I'm interested in hearing from users who are actually using, or who have first-hand experience with RAID implementations. I read that RAID 5 will cost us a little performance in writes. Do you have any numbers? What about the benefits gained from the inherent striping with a RAID? My company is looking at moving into a RAID environment becuase our customers are demanding more fault-tolerance. Let's get a decent thread going on this topic.....I think most of us are going to have to address the matter eventually.
