Anyhow, : I just lost my Informix DBA and was told that I have until Thursday to decide if we : should go to ever convert 300 sites to the Online version. I can't remember how to Ed, if you've been happy with SE, why convert? SE is certainly a LOT easier to handle, and needs a lot less administration. The reasons I can think of why you might consider changing to Online are: - You need backup ability while the DB is still running - You need data types that are only available in Online (varchar, BLOBs) - SE cannot handle the load any more with acceptable performance - You need the ability to handle distributed databases (Informix-STAR) If you indeed want to change, the first thing you will want to get is a good DBA. With 300 sites, probably more than one...
