Does Informix do feature request

I found a bug in the SE 5.0 for AIX that makes it impossible for my application to run in my environment. I called Informix service and they said, that's not a bug but we can make a feature request that will enable your application to run. They then explained that a feature request means that if development feels like it they will implement the feature in an upcoming version. Behooved and bewildered with no other options I said OK. My question is, does Informix ever actually implement these feature request and about how long does it take?
