Set the PDQPRIORITY in your ONCONFIG file to 0 and MAXPDQPRIORITY to 100. Then use the SET PDQPRIORITY <integer> statement within the reports to increase their priority. Be creaful though as too high a PDQPRIORITY can really hog the machine. Also check your UNIX kernel parameters regarding semaphores/ sahred memory are set high enough. I once had a client who enabled PDQ on their development machine ( a 2 CPU Pryramid) and the machine froze solid. Eventually a Pyramid engineer was called in to investigate and discovered Informix was literally using 100% of both CPUs. Apparently they had hit a kernel limit to do with semaphores!! -- David Williams
