We are currently running Informix Online 4.1 on a Unysis System which we have outgrown. We are in the process of upgrading to Informix DSA on a Sun ES4000 but have encountered the following problems / situations. 1. If we make an entry into the database using a regular 'sperform' screen, any date entered is displayed differently when the same record is queried using the same form run with a 'cperf' program. This problem occurs in both directions. eg. "02/09/1996" was entered in a date field using a form run by a 'cperf' program This date was displayed as "02/03/1996" when queried using the same screen run with 'sperform' "03/09/1996" was entered in a date field using a screen run with 'sperform' This date was displayed as "65/13/1996" when queried using the same screen run with 'cperf' (Note: we use the "ddmmyy" format) We know the problem is not with the form file since we used the same form file for entering and viewing the record. The only thing that changed was the method or running it: 'sperform' vs. a 'cperf' program. 2. ESQL/C and 4GL programs compiled under DSA are at least twice the the size of those compiled under our older versions of informix The specifications for the new system is as follows: Operating system: Solaris 2.5 Release 5.5.1 Hardware: Sun ES4000 Informix Software ESQL/C 7.11 UC2 SQL 6.03 UC1 Online 7.12 UC2 4GL 6.03 UD1 I would really appreciate some help on the two abovementioned issues. I suspect there is a compatibility problem with problem 1. Can anyone shed some light?? Paul Jones Software Development Manager Belize Telecommunications Limited
