Hi Steve ! A possible reason for the described behavior could be that the log files are full. If this happens the whole server stands still until at least one log file is released. To release a log file you have to use the ontape -a command. The contents of the log file is saved to the device named in the onconfig parameter LTAPEDEV. Hope this helps !
