Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
In a thread on IBM's number one TPC-E benchmark result, Fernando Nunes joked about selling without a benchmark. Ian Michael Gumby criticised IBM for selling IDS without its own salesforce, relying on channels and business partners. Another poster said the same was true of Progress and its VARs. Opinion only; no technical answer.

Selling without a benchmark?! How odd... Strange times we live in :)

LOL! How about selling IDS without a salesforce? Yeah that's the
ticket. Only enough IT Specialists to barely support the major IDS
clients, while they are also cross trained on DB2? Yeah that's the
ticket! Sell IDS via channels and BPs.
Strange times we live in where the sales force is being outsold by
their "partners". I know that there are a couple of old time IBMers
rolling in their graves over that one.

Isn't it true for Progress database also. Their own sales is much
less than that of VARs who build their products on Progress.
Progress.
Haven't heard about that one for many moons.
Microcenter used to use it back in the 80's and 90's. Not sure what they are doing these days.
Last I heard, they were getting away from the database and focusing on their connectivity and other products.
