Proprietary SQL commands are then sent untranslated through ODBC to the database. Be aware that in some cases you may inadvertantly get multiple connections to the database when using ODBC and your setting may not apply to all of them. Also if you use the OpenLink drivers you can specify a set of commands that are executed whenever a connection is established. Via this mechanism you may set any number of options.
