hi everyone, I have informix installed on Unix machine, and i get access to my database trough Unix-shell, last time when i want to access to some tables I get an error saying : there is already a user with the same name Presnet (un utilisateur ayant le meme nom est deja present) ; please any suggestion ;;;; thanks maca

Hi, you need to provide some more information: - what Informix product and which version? - is there an error code (i.e. an error number)? - how do you connect to the database? The UNIX shell cannot be used to connect to the database. You must have some kind of application program. This may be dbaccess, some 4GL application, etc. What do you use? Normally neither IDS (if that's your database server) nor dbaccess are concerned with concurrency of users with the same name. This looks like an application check and resulting error ...
