A customer recently got exactly this (only once) on Linux 11.10.UC2
(upgrading soon) while running dbimport.
This was on the local host overnight via "cron", so was not killed and
cannot have been a network break.

Same here, local host, nothing else running on the server. Has
happened only that one time so far.
