Getting date in informix

How does informix behave when X units month from a date is added or subtracted ? I found it strange ! It returns null if I add a month to 31/05/2005 or I subtracted 3 units month from 31/05/2005 Is there any utility which I can use except for this for getting proper date. sending to informix-list

But there isn't a 31st of Feb so you need to define what the result should be for your environment. You could just subtract 30 days for each month you want to move. You could add 1 day, then subtract 3 months, and then subtract the day, this would get you back to 28th Feb.
