Mr Informix is forever being misquoted - Michael Jackson should have such good press. In Australia, the policy document is a dozen or more turgid pages of convoluted scenarios and possibilities - the internet is not the place for examining the whole can of worms. You're right in assuming the '5 user minimum', but that applies only to server products. If you're developing against OnLine, you must have development licences for all Informix products involved. BTW, test servers could theoretically use only deployment licences, but that's a whole other can of worms. For your config, as below, you'll need a dev licence for NET. Since NET is ONLY shipped with a language product (Informix bundles connectivity products now) you _must_ already have an Informix runtime product (ESQL/C, NewEra, ViewPoint, HyperScript et al). My advice is to review your situation with the local Informix people.
