1) Is the variable really IFXDIR on your system? On mine it's INFORMIXDIR.
2) You need to "export" the variable to the environment, so that Informix can
see it. If INFORMIXDIR isn't set, it won't be able to find various things,
among them sql.iem. (On my system, if INFORMIXDIR isn't set, I just get
"Unknown error message number '32766'".)
3) You might need to set DBPATH as well.
So, try something like:
INFORMIXDIR=/informix/binASPIFX=/ASP/bin/Informix
DBPATH=???
export INFORMIXDIR DBPATHINFORMIXDIR/bin/sacego $ASPIFX/get_units
