I didn't realize that was in the 9.40 fix packs -- but it's there and
working in IDS 9.40.UC4.
SET ENVIRONMENT OPTCOMPIND "1";
The release notes aren't as clear on this as they should be - there is no
quote visible (hi, Tom!).
However, the SET ENVIRONMENT command in general (it has a number of
sub-commands, most of them only applicable to XPS at the moment; IDS will
probably gain more over time) takes strings for the value of the
environment variable - hence the notation I used.
ESQL/C 9.53.UC1 (CSDK 2.81.UC1) recognizes the 'SET ENVIRONMENT
OPTCOMPIND' statement, but does not permit host variables in the last
position - and the beta version of ESQL/C 2.90.UC1 (for CSDK 2.90.UC1 -
yes, the version numbering has changed dramatically) also rejects the host
variables. You can, however, prepare and execute, or execute immediate, a
string containing the statement.
