Chris, I probably should mention that I have worked for Informix and Veritas. That said, I haven't seen anything earth shattering. There have been small bugs on both sides that have been fixed quickly. I haven't seen many people use onbar external backups/restores, but the ones that did seemed to be pleased with it. Most people stick with plain vanilla onbar. Are you asking because you're trying to evaluate between Veritas and another storage manager? Have you already purchased NBU and are wondering what guidelines to use? Hope this information helps.
