Migration from 5.X to 7.22

Hi , We are planning to migrate our system which is running 5.06 online on a sequent Dynix PTX to 7.22 online. But while testing the migration with a small instance. I faced the following problems. While converting from 5.06 system catalog indexes into 7.22 format . Informix goes into abort giving a message Cannot find locale. I have set all the neccessary LOCALE variables. I cannot do a unload and load since our database is quite large. But the tech support suggested to move them to 7.13 first and then move to 7.22 which worked. But this will cost us some time. One more thing I noticed is the shared memory size when moving from 5.06 to 7.13 to 7.22 NOTE : I haven't done any changes to the config files except for the essential ones. The size seems to increase while converting from 5.06 to 7.13 and reduce from 7.13 to 7.22 eg. the size of the shared memory in 5.06 is 1248 7.13 is 9576 7.22 is 5448 I am a bit confused now. Has anybody done a direct conversion from 5.06 to 7.22 in sequent or any other platform. If so could you please give me some hints. Which will save me a lot of hastle of moving through two versions.
