How well does it port to platforms : > other than the IBM RISC 6000? Well I work at Unidata so I have my opintion :-). UniData runs on many platforms--obviously IBM RISC 6000, HP, Data General, Digital, SCO UNIX, Sun Solaris, UnixWare, Stratus, Silico Graphics, Sequoia TOPIX, ATT Sys5.4v2 and even, VMS, OpenVMS ans OSF/1. If you want more information about Unidata and you have a web browser, try http://unidata.com If you'd like some marketing info about the company, send me e-mail and I'll send you some brochures describing the company and its products. By, the way, I recently worked on a project with an Informix guru (:-) to link Informix and UniData together such that you can read/write/delete, etc to UniData from Informix 4GL AND you can read/write/delete, etc. to Informix from UniData via ESQL/C. We did this to tie a UniData vertical app into an Informix shop. Jackie Burhans Unidata, Inc. http://unidata.com/~burhans
